The death of the first Barrymore, the birth of Sondheim, and 3 momentous premieres.
‘Off the Main Road,’ a long-unproduced play by the Kansas-born writer, will make its long-overdue premiere at Williamstown Theatre Festival this summer.
The slate ranges from Neil Simon to Julia, from a bio-drama about Justice William O. Douglas to ‘Man of La Mancha.’
Highlights include real-life couple Audra McDonald and Will Swenson doing O’Neill, Eric Bogosian and Cynthia Nixon as literary types, and a double header of new British plays.
