Durantt partners with artistic director Sarah Slight, who joined the company in July, to lead the Chicago theatre into its next chapter.
Former Raven production manager and artistic producer Cole von Glahn will assume the role of interim managing director at the beginning of May.
Starting Dec. 1, Slight will temporarily replace Cody Estle, who is leaving Raven to serve as artistic director of Next Act Theatre in Milwaukee.
After 14 years with the Chicago theatre, 5 of them as artistic director, Estle is leaving to lead Milwaukee’s Next Act Theatre.
The inaugural recipient is Tyla Abercrumbie, whose work will receive workshops and readings at Raven.
The Chicago theatre will begin its season in February 2021 and move a planned world premiere to the 2021-22 season.
Gray’s tenure will begin on July 1, 2020.
