Among the 20 members of this year’s class of artists and leaders are 8 with links to theatre and/or public performance.
The Creatives Rebuild initiative provides either guaranteed income or employment funding for artists and arts institutions across New York State.
Ford, Mellon, and United States Artists present a free festival featuring 2 days of art and ideas from disabled artists, writers, performers, and designers.
20 artists, performers, writers, and creators from around the country will receive $50,000 each.
The recipients were recognized for their work in social justice; winners include Mikhail Baryshnikov, P. Carl, and Ping Chong.
The American theatre as we know it didn’t just evolve organically, inevitably; it was conjured by visionaries who dreamt of a national theatre outside New York, then built it.
We got people talking, and we moved the ball forward, but there’s so much more to do, and it’s time for a rebirth.
