MainStreet Theatre Company Announces 2017-18 Season

The TYA theatre’s 12th season will offer three shows for children and families.

The theatre will mount its shows in 12 venues across Atlanta.

The first three plays at the Bay Area theatre will be Pinter’s ‘Birthday Party,’ Nguyen’s ‘Vietgone,’ and Parks’s ‘Father Comes Home From the Wars.’

On the slate are revivals of Molière, Sondheim, and Churchill, as well as new plays by Ken Urban and Dominique Morisseau.

The season will feature magic tricks, improvisation, history lessons, and jazz music.

The season will include a five-person ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and a world premiere from John Marcus and Rebecca Bazell.

Also, playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis will star in a play alongside Treat Williams.

The season will include two world premieres and a Tony Award-winning musical.

The season lineup includes six productions of contemporary works.

Several regional premieres, award-winning musicals, and family shows will be featured among the company’s productions.
