East West Players Announces Digital 2021 Season

The company’s 55th anniversary season features multiple premieres.

The winter season will feature three original productions designed for virtual audiences.

The theatre has postponed its production of August Wilson’s ‘Two Trains Running’ and will offer Windy City premiere of ‘Theatre for One.’

The Chicago company hopes to reopen in the fall with a world premiere from Joshua Allen.

The 4-show season will feature Laura Osnes and Ana Isabelle in concert, as well as E. Faye Butler as Fannie Lou Hamer.

The Minneapolis company will present five virtual cabarets in 2021.

Shakespeare and James Ijames plays are on the slate for its final summer before a move to a new home.

The virtual season will include short plays, including works by Lynn Nottage, José Rivera, and Alayna Jacqueline.

Guadalís Del Carmen and Kwame Kwei-Armah will co-produce this year’s virtual festival featuring Caribbean stories.

The company will present a series of digital readings and classes in place of its previously scheduled in-person programming.
