Also in the lineup are a new play by Heidi Armbruster, as well as Noël Coward’s ‘Private Lives’ and Wendy MacLeod’s ‘Slow Food.’
The lineup features two mainstage productions and a year-long reading series.
The lineup will include contemporary plays, classic musicals, children’s shows, and more.
The season will feature a world premiere, a cult classic, and a sequel to Qui Nguyen’s ‘Vietgone.’
The 2019-20 season lineup will feature a ballet by Matthew Bourne and works written and performed by John Leguizamo and Mike Birbiglia.
The season will mark the first under new artistic director Ethan McSweeny.
Along with Don X. Nguyen’s play about the North Korean Supreme Leader is a play about former Texas governor Ann Richards.
The annual new-play fest will feature world premieres by Katie May and Ruben Grijalva.
The 2019-20 slate at the Chicago theatre will include a revival of Tracy Letts’s ‘Bug’ starring Coon, plus a new Rajiv Joseph play about LeBron James.
