Pasadena Playhouse Announces Four Shows of 2019-20 Season

New revivals of ‘Little Shop’ and ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ bookend a slate that includes BD Wong directing Lauren Yee’s ‘The Great Leap’ and Alfred Molina in Florian Zeller’s ‘The Father.’
The Off-Broadway theatre has launched its Radical Parent-Inclusion Project, which will include free childcare for its artists and shorter work days for parents.
The lineup features a range of contemporary works, including a Thomas Gibbons world premiere.
The plays are Tina Satter’s ‘Is This a Room’ and Antoinette Nwandu’s ‘Tuvalu or, The Saddest Song.’
Plays by Adam Bock, Julia Cho, Donja R. Love, and John Patrick Shanley, as well Kate Hamill’s ‘The Scarlet Letter’ and some new TYA works, highlight an eclectic slate.
The 2019-20 lineup, called Ghost Light, will feature haunting adaptations and stories of ghouls.
Among the shows featured will be works by Sondheim, Churchill, and Ruhl, as well as a Michaela Goldhaber world premiere.
In honor of its 50th Anniversary, the West L.A. company will present works by Fornés, Orton, and others that premiered around the time the troupe was established.
The lineup will feature a remount of the company’s physical adaptation of ‘The Tempest’ with a water-filled set.
The 2019-20 lineup will feature a world premiere adaptation of a poem, and works by Clare Barron, Aleshea Harris, and more.
