Denver Center Theatre to Present 2 World Premieres, Plus ‘Sweeney’ and ‘Alice’

The Colorado theatre’s new season to feature new plays from Theresa Rebeck and Tanya Saracho, plus a punk ‘Sweeney Todd’ and ‘Lookingglass Alice.’
New plays by Jose Rivera, Thomas Bradshaw, Charise Castro Smith and Seth Bockley highlight the Chicago theatre’s next season.
Triad Stage’s nine productions highlight music, comedy, drama and mystery.
The Oregon theatre’s season ranges from American classics like ‘Our Town’ and ‘Streetcar’ to solo shows, ‘Sex With Strangers’ and ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’.’
Also on the company’s slate: an original devised work about a trapped miner, and a revival of ‘A Doll’s House.’
Two new shows, ‘Snapshots’ and ‘My Heart Is the Drum,’ will receive productions, along with three Broadway favorites.
The NYC-based ensemble will premiere ‘the theater is a blank page,’ a collaboration with visual artist Ann Hamilton, plus more tour dates for ‘A Rite’ and ‘Steel Hammer.’
Also announced for the Chicago theatre are ‘Satchmo at the Waldorf,’ ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ and Greta Oglesby, back as Aunt Esther in ‘Gem of the Ocean.’
The L.A. theatre’s slate ranges from revivals of ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Titanic’ to imports of two of last season’s most admired Broadway offerings, and a visit from composer Jason Robert Brown.
Also on tap at the California theatre are an appearance by Chicago’s Hypocrites, a staging of Ayad Akhtar’s ‘Disgraced’ and a new play by Julie Cho.
