New York City Announces Recipients of Inaugural Diversity Grants

Twelve projects will be developed, including new works from Elena Heyman, Kristin Marting, and Jenny Larson.
The program will offer developmental resources for playwrights who aren’t pursuing MFAs.
The third round of recipients will receive grants to support activities for veterans and military families.
The awards will fund extended development time for 16 productions around the country.
Scenic and media designer Bryce Cutler will be honored at the USITT conference in 2017.
Seventy-five awards were handed out at Theatre Bay Area’s annual awards ceremony.
The writer of ‘The Brother/Sister Plays’ will head Yale’s playwriting program and serve as Yale Rep’s playwright-in-residence.
The Tony-winning director will be presented with the award at the foundation’s 2017 gala.
The playwright will be honored at the William Inge Center’s annual festival in April 2017.
