The theatre company plans to a new theatre in Evanston, Ill.
So far the theatre has received $17 million in commitments toward its $18.5 million goal.
Ian Damont Martin and Angela Salinas are the company’s new artistic director and managing director, respectively.
In every show he directed at my theatre, he’d always try to work in a cigar prop and hide a six-pack of beer somewhere on the set.
The theatre’s 19-20 season will feature some gender-bent casting and plays by Kate Hamill and Lauren Gunderson.
The lineup will include a family-friendly musical, a mature comedy, and ‘Fun Home.’
Also on next season’s slate: ‘As You Like It’ with Beatles songs and a production from Mexico’s Makuyeika Theatre Collective.
The lineup includes three Midwest premieres, a few Cleveland premieres, and a Chekhov remix.
The world premieres include works by Lucas Hnath and Korde Arrington Tuttle, and a new ‘Outsiders’ musical by Adam Rapp and the band Jamestown Revival.
The lineup includes multiple world premieres and two new takes on ‘A Christmas Carol.’
