Dobama Theatre Announces Alternative 2020-21 Season

The Cleveland theatre will offer a series programs and events for its upcoming season.

For decades, the founder of the Phoenix Theatre and Fonseca Theatre made exciting theatre in Indianapolis, and he had more in store.

The playwright of ‘The Thanksgiving Play’ is known for creating space for Indigenous artists and stories.

The season will feature live shows and radio plays, but will not include an annual production of ‘A Christmas Carol.’

This year’s cohort will be Eliza Bent, Marisa Carr, Terry Guest, and Exal Iraheta.

The 2020-21 programming will feature special events, cabarets, and a new play festival.

The event, which includes several Black theatres of Chicago, will consist of workshops, panels, and a united audition for Black artists.

Working with TGNC actors means creating a culture of collaboration, respect, and wholeness.

In partnership with the Milwaukee Black Theater Festival, Milwaukee Rep will present a virtual convening this month.

The theatre’s additional programming will be made available globally through virtual memberships.
