Starting Dec. 1, Slight will temporarily replace Cody Estle, who is leaving Raven to serve as artistic director of Next Act Theatre in Milwaukee.
In the newly created position, Hunter succeeds the company’s former producing director and director of external affairs.
The festival will feature work from playwrights Donja R. Love, Charlie Oh, Omer Abbas Salem, Gina Femia, Nancy García Loza, and Jeffrey Lieber.
Winners include talent from ‘Alice by Heart,’ ‘The Beast in the Jungle,’ ‘Hadestown,’ ‘Oklahoma!,’ and ‘Ain’t Too Proud.’
Jez Butterworth, Robert Horn, David Yazbek, and Heidi Schreck will be awarded at a private reception later this month.
The lineup includes modern classics, a holiday whodunit, and a new-play festival.
The 2019-20 will feature another play by Joshua Harmon, plus works by Theresa Rebeck and Tarell Alvin McCraney.
The 12 recipients will be recognized for their debut performances on and Off-Broadway this season.
Lee will start at the foundation in September, after serving for 18 years at the NEA.
