FISH CREEK, WIS.: Northern Sky Theater has announced its 2015 summer season, with a lineup featuring three musical comedies in rotating repertory, two of them world premieres. Northern Sky is the new name of the former American Folklore Theatre.

First is the Dave Hudson and Paul Libman’s new musical, No Bones About It (June 15–Aug. 28), in which a certain Shakespeare’s tragedy gets a modern retelling with Ronny and Julie and their competing families vying at the Verona National Ribfest. The musical marks the sixth teaming of Hudson and Libman.

Next is another world premiere, When Butter Churns to Gold (June 11–Aug. 29) by Peter Welkin, Ron Barnett and Randi Wolfe, which tells the tale of an orphan who tries to tries to save the family farm from a moustache-twirling villain.

Closing out the season will be a second staging of Strings Attached (June 16–Aug. 28), Dave Hudson and Colin Welford’s spin on the-prince-and-the-pauper story, in which a set of twins—one a Hawaiian ukulele fanatic and other an heir to a Wisconsin banjo dynasty—randomly meet again after having been separated at birth.

Northern Sky Theater is a nonprofit professional theatre organization that produces original musical shows in repertory from June through August. Northern Sky continues its performances into the fall with shows at the Door Community Auditorium and town halls September through October and over the Christmas holiday.
