ITHACA, N.Y.: Kitchen Theatre Company has announced that producing artistic director M. Bevin O’Gara and associate producing director Lesley Greene have departed the company, as of June 30. As previously announced, O’Gara will be succeeded by David Winitsky, who started his interim tenure on July 1. Kitchen Theatre has also announced that recently appointed artistic and administrative associate Tyler Struble, and connectivity associate Marissa Accordino will take on many of the duties that were performed by Greene.

O’Gara served as producing artistic director of Kitchen Theatre for three years, enrolling a record number of subscribers, seeing an increase in grant funding, and initiating the Green Initiative for sustainable practices, according to a release from the theatre. O’Gara also oversaw bringing the One-Minute Play Festival to Ithaca and directed eight Kitchen Theatre plays (Brahman/I, Ironbound, Brawler, Girlfriend, Grounded, Tribes, Proof, and Cry It Out).

Greene, who served as the company’s chief grant writer, worked as a volunteer and part-time staff member for five years prior to joining the company full-time in 2003. With a background in producing, sound design, composing, choreography, directing, and writing, Greene led the marketing area for the theatre, created sound and projection designs (Cry It Out, Hand to God, Ironbound), composed music (Physics Fair, Park Play), created choreography for Kitchen Theatre fundraising events, and acted in productions. Additionally, for six years, Greene curated and produced the Kitchen Theatre’s Kitchen Counter Culture series, which brought solo performance artists to Ithaca.
