Twice a month, Terry Teachout of the Wall Street Journal; Elisabeth Vincentelli, contributor to The New York Times and The New Yorker; and Peter Marks of the Washington Post get together to talk about what’s going on in the American theatre.

This week the critics welcome back Terry and pick up the ongoing debate about streamed and recorded theatre, with some new perspectives as the world continues to shift and theatre companies begin to implement long-term changes. They then answer questions from listeners about immersive theatre, nostalgia in the time of quarantine, and the usefulness of referencing past shows in reviewing. The round-the-horn discussion this week includes a Zoom reading of a new play, The Ducks, a webcast of Goodman Theatre’s School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, and the Public Theater’s newest installment of Richard Nelson’s “Apple Family” plays, this one via Zoom.
