BURBANK, CALIF.: The Colony Theatre has announced its 2015-2016 season. It will feature two world premieres, two West Coast premieres and a California premiere.

First up will be the West Coast premiere of The Fabulous Lipitones (July 25–Aug. 23), about a barbershop quartet that suddenly loses its lead singer and replaces him with an Indian immigrant. The show will be directed by John Markus, who wrote the play with Mark St. Germain.

Patty Duke will star in the next show, Mary Lincoln (Sept. 19–Oct. 18), a world premiere bio-play in which the 16th First Lady shares her life story with reporters. Mary Lincoln was written by John Philip Dayton, and will be directed by Cameron Watson.

Charlotte Jones’ Humble Boy (Nov. 7–Dec. 13) will then receive its California premiere. The play is about an astrophysicist on a mission to unlock the secrets of the universe who gets sidetracked into an investigation of the human heart. David Rose directs.

Next up is the West Coast premiere of Mark St. Germain’s The Best of Enemies, based on a true story about a Civil Rights activist and Klan member forced to work together on integrating their small North Carolina town 15 years after Brown vs. Board of Education. David Rose directs.

The world premiere of Another Roll of the Dice (April 16–May 15, 2016) closes out the season. The musical, featuring songs by Guys and Dolls‘s Frank Loesser, is based on the writings of Damon Runyon, and follows the reporter as he covers stories of hustlers, actors, showgirls and gangsters. The play is by Mark Saltzman and will be directed by Michael Matthews.

The award-winning Colony Theatre Company was founded in 1975 as a 99-seat Equity waiver theatre in Silver Lake, Calif. The company moved into a 270-seat theatre created for it by the city of Burbank in 2000.
