LOS ANGELES: The Antaeus Company, a classical theatre ensemble, has appointed a new executive director. Ana Rose O’Halloran will lead the company beginning Jan. 22.
“I’m excited to work with a company that has so much history and such a large group of supporters who believe in the organization,” O’Halloran said in a statement. “Antaeus produces plays that have stories with enduring themes that really resonate.”
O’Halloran recently served as senior director for the Pablove Foundation, a pediatric cancer nonprofit in Los Angeles. She also worked at in the development department at Center Theatre Group.
O’Halloran will oversee Antaeus alongside co-artistic director Bill Brochtrup. “As Antaeus continues to grow and expand, we need someone who can help us continue on to the next chapter,” said Brochtrup in a statement. “We have so much going on, including the Academy, ClassicsFest, New Playwrights’ Lab and our arts ed program—plus a full season of plays. Ana Rose impressed us as being extremely capable, with a strong artistic sensibility and a great vision for the future—a true team player.”
O’Halloran is taking over the position from Miki Shelton, who stepped into the position last January and will be returning her former role as an outside development consultant to Antaeus.
