MINNEAPOLIS: The Jungle Theater has announced its 2015 season, which is both its 25th anniversary season and the final season under founding artistic director Bain Boehlke. Boehlke will retire at the end of the season (after which he will be artistic director emeritus).
On the roster is a remount of Win Wells’s Gertrude Stein and a Companion (it will be the Jungle’s eighth production of the play), Kander and Ebb’s And the World Goes ‘Round, George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s You Can’t Take It With You (with Boehlke starring as Grandpa), the regional premiere of Sharr White’s Annapurna and Conor McPherson’s The Night Alive.

Gertrude Stein and a Companion, by Win Wells, directed by Bain Boehlke. In this play about Stein and her partner, Alice B. Toklas, Claudia Wilkens and Barbara Kingsley will reprise their roles as Stein and Toklas, respectively. They previously starred in the 2001 production at the Jungle.

And the World Goes ‘Round, directed by John Command and starring Bradley Greenwald, is a musical revue of the songs of John Kander and Fred Ebb from such musicals as New York, New York, 70, Girls, 70, The Happy Time, The Rink, The Act, Woman of the Year, Chicago, Funny Lady, Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Woman, among others.

Director Gary Gisselman makes his Jungle debut with You Can’t Take It With You, Kaufman and Hart’s comedy about a New York City family. The production starts Raye Birk, Bain Boehlke, Wendy Lehr, John Middleton, Anna Sundberg and Angela Timberman.

Annapurna by Sharr White, directed by Joel Sass, follows a reunion between Emma and Ulysses, 20 years after Emma left their marriage. Terry Hempleman and Angela Timberman play the estranged couple.
Nov. 6–Dec. 20
The Night Alive, by Conor McPherson and directed by Joel Sass, details what happens after a barely employed man takes a battered woman into his home. The production features Stephen Yoakam, Patrick Bailey, Martin Ruben and Tyson Forbes.
