LOS ANGELES: The Latino Theater Company announced a fall lineup of premieres and company classics to play the stage at the Los Angeles Theatre Center.
First on the roster is the West Coast premiere of In Love and Warcraft by Madhuri Shekar, which takes a look at virtual and in-person relationships.
Next is Riot/Rebellion by Donald Jolly, which will be staged by Denna Selenow. The show will be produced by the Watts Village Theater Company in association with the Latino Theater Company.
Following is Dominique Morisseau’s Detroit 67, which documents the riots that shook Motor City and their effect on a family.
Cris Franco’s memory play 57 Chevy is next to play at the LATC, featuring Ric Salinas of Culture Clash and directed by Valerie Dunlap.
The Latina Christmas Special, which will play during the holidays, includes stories from Sandra Valls, Diana Yanez, and Maria Russell. The comedians’ tales were assembled for the stage by Yanez.
To close the fall season, the Latino Theater Company will bring back Evelina Fernández’s La Virgen de Guadalupe, Dios Inantzin, a local tradition. The pageant play portrays the story of Juan Diego, a peasant from Tepeyac and his vision of the Virgin Mary.
