Offscript is American Theatre’s flagship podcast, available wherever you get your podcasts (including Spotify and Apple Podcasts), in which the magazine’s editors, writers, and special guests tell us what they’re up to and what’s on their mind.
This month, editor-in-chief Rob Weinert-Kendt sits down with iconic director George C. Wolfe (his second sit with this Broadway legend) to talk about his current Broadway production of Gypsy, about working with such stars as Gregory Hines and Audra McDonald, and about how dreams and defiance can be indistinguishable for Black artists. Before that interview, the editors discuss the recently released Spring issue of American Theatre, which checks in on theatres’ finances as well as on the progress of their diversity efforts and attempts to reshape board governance.
