Offscript is American Theatre’s flagship podcast, available wherever you get your podcasts (including Spotify and Apple Podcasts), in which the magazine’s editors, writers, and special guests tell us what they’re up to and what’s on their mind.

This month we have something very special: A recording of a conversation with playwright Jonathan Spector about his play Eureka Day from the stage of Manhattan Theatre Club’s Friedman Theatre. As far as we can recall, this is the first time the play that’s in the current print issue of American Theatre magazine is simultaneously playing on Broadway. So we’re chuffed that we could capture this moment, with the help of the folks at MTC and host Isaac Butler.

We also reconnect with Gemma Wilson, a frequent contributor to AT who is currently the arts and culture reporter for The Seattle Times—in which job she succeeded our current managing editor, Jerald Raymond Pierce. J.R. catches up with Gemma about the unique, scrappy charms of Seattle’s performance scene.
