Offscript, American Theatre’s flagship podcast for a number of years, is back as a Facebook Live chat with the magazine’s editors and special guests as well as an audio podcast.
On our most recent episode, a first for nearly a month, we talked about our recent special issue on theatre training, and then were honored to speak to two of the finest actors working onstage at the moment: Deirdre O’Connell, star of Lucas Hnath’s riveting, unsettling play Dana H., and Emily Davis, star of the high-wire docu-theatrical interrogation Is This A Room. Both are plays that were staged at Off-Broadway’s Vineyard Theatre, and are now running in repertory at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre through Nov. 28. We talk (and they talk to each other) about playing real people, about reenacting trauma, and about what it’s like to do “experimental” theatre on Broadway.
