NEW YORK: Ma-Yi Theater Company has announced a new $5,000 micro-grant program for New York-based BIPOC, trans, and disabled artists.
Applications are open to a variety of arts workers and creatives, including designers, actors, directors, playwrights, poets, musicians, choreographers, dancers, painters, sculptors, and video artists. Ten awards of $500 each will be granted in total.
The micro-grant fund was established through Play-Per View, which presented an online reading of Carla Ching’s play Revenge Porn in February 2021 to benefit the grant program.
Applications are due April 9, and guidelines and requirements are available on the Ma-Yi website.
Ma-Yi Theater Company’s primary mission is to develop and produce new, innovative plays by Asian American writers.
