On this month’s episode, Brian James Polak hands the mic over to Jeremy Cohen, producing artistic director of the Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis.
The center has been busy this spring and summer, hosting several online discussions with playwrights on a multitude of topics. In this particular conversation, titled “Writing Across Mediums” the focus is on how writers move from one medium to another, especially when finding inspiration proves challenging. Jeremy Cohen moderates with panelists Sarah Gubbins (The Kid Thing, In Loco Parentis, Amazon’s I Heart Dick, the film Shirley), Jen Silverman (Collective Rage: A Play in 5 Betties, The Moors, the novel The Island Dwellers), and Mfoniso Udofia (Sojourners, runboyrun, Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, Apple TV’s little america). They discuss their experience moving among playwriting, screenwriting, television writing, and novels.
A livestream of this conversation was produced for HowlRound Theatre Commons and can be found at PWCenter.org.
