SEATTLE: On the Boards (OtB), an organization promoting transformative and critical discourse within the Seattle arts community, and possibly best known for its pathbreaking online performance platform Ontheboards.tv, has announced that it will engage a curatorial fellow for the 2020-21 season.
The curatorial fellow will develop, research, and realize performance and public events in collaboration with OtB artistic director Rachel Cook. In addition, the fellow will receive mentorship, on-the-job training, and will be connected to a network of curators and producers across the globe. This fellowship program is part of OtB’s work in creating inclusive decision-making practices and sharing power at various levels of the organization.
“In a time of unprecedented separation and course correction it is essential to uphold our mission of connecting artists to diverse communities,” said Davora Lindner, OtB board president, in a statement. “Introspection, study, discussion, and sharing institutional knowledge and resources maintains our commitment to artists in a time when live presentations aren’t possible. We’re invigorated by the vision of the fellowships and excited to share the multiplicity of perspectives they will bring.”
