Registration Opens for TCG 2020 Virtual Conference

This year’s national conference, originally planned for Phoenix in June, will take place online and in two parts in May and June.

NEW YORK CITY: Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has opened registration for its 2020 virtual conference, called Re:Emergence, which will take place in two blocks of virtual programming. Part one, “Convergence,” will take place May 6-8, while part two, “Convening,” will happen June 2-5 (around the same time as the originally planned live conference, which was to take place in Phoenix, June 4-6). Registration is open now for part one, and registration for part two is here. TCG has waived registration fees for Re:Emergence for TCG Members, though availability is limited and spots are given on a first-come, first-served basis.

TCG is presenting May’s Convergence as a field-wide pulse check to address and support the immediate need for connection and collective action as the field faces the challenges brought on by the coronavirus shutdowns. The programming will also serve as a place to discuss and dream about the field’s future.

June’s Convening is focus on knowledge building and sharing through live-streamed keynotes, online workshops, and interactive sessions, among other events. Programming will cover five main arcs: Re:Model, about audiences, artistry, and alternative performance; Re:Vision, focusing on the future of the field; Re:Cover, looking at advocacy and relief for nonprofit theatre; Re:Unite, on equity and justice in the healing process; and Re:Build, discussing crisis management and preparedness.

Registration for Convergence will close after April 30 or when all of the available registrations spots are sold out. A full agenda and information about accessing the virtual sessions will be shared directly with registered attendees beginning on May 4.
