Northlight Theatre Announces Plans for New Home

The theatre company plans to a new theatre in Evanston, Ill.

SKOKIE, ILL.: Northlight Theatre has announced plans for a new home in downtown Evanston, Ill. The company has signed an option agreement to purchase an existing building at 1012-1016 Church Street. Northlight Theatre is fundraising and developing plans to make the purchase by the end of the year. The company will demolish the structure and rebuild on the site.

The new location is steps away from public transportation and has ample parking, a bonus for Northlight Theatre’s audiences. The company’s new home will be a stand-alone building with 2-3 stories. The new building will feature a 300-seat theatre and an office space. The company will remain at its current location of North Shore Center in Skokie, Ill., through the 2020-21 season.

Founded in 1974, Northlight Theatre is dedicated to promoting changing perspectives by exploring the humanity of theatre and sharing it with their community and the world.
