Applications Open for TCG’s Rising Leaders of Color Round 4

Selected participants will receive a TCG Conference Scholarship and a year of professional development opportunities.

NEW YORK CITY: Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is seeking applicants from Miami and New York City for the fourth round of Rising Leaders of Color (RLC) Program, which seeks to develop and highlight exceptionally talented early-career leaders of color across the U.S. who are committed to upholding equitable practices in the theatre field. RLC is part of TCG’s initiative to transform the national theatre field into a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse community.

The program supports leaders working in all areas of theatre, providing selected participants with a yearlong networking and professional development curriculum beginning in May. For early-career theatre critics and journalists in the 2019 cohort, this curriculum will include participation in the National Critics Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, June 30-July 14, mentorship opportunities with arts editors and journalists in Miami and around the U.S., including at American Theatre magazine, and a publishing relationship that may include stipends. All members of the 2019 cohort will participate in workshops and events during the 2019 TCG National Conference in Miami.

The deadline for the fourth round of Rising Leaders of Color is April 18 at noon. Find additional application information here.

For more information on the program, contact Michael Francis, TCG’s senior artistic and international programs associate: mfrancis@tcg.org

Round four of RLC is supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Howard Gilman Foundation.
