BRISTOL, PA.: Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) has announced that Kevin Maroney will join the theatre as its new managing director, succeeding Anne Kohn. He has been hired following a national search conducted by Management Consultants for the Arts, Inc.
“After a comprehensive six-month search, the Board is delighted to welcome Kevin into the BRT family,” said BRT board president William J. Salerno in a statement. “Kevin’s broad experience and versatility, combined with his business acumen, adaptability and boundless energy, are just the right combination to move BRT into the future.”
Previously, Maroney spent five years at Baltimore Center Stage, where he completed a $28 million capital campaign building project. He was also responsible for supervising the organization’s transitions during the 12-month construction period, facilitating the company’s residency relationship with Towson University, coordinating a professional internship program, and serving as community advocate with executive and legislative offices. He holds his BA from Seton Hall University and MBA from Case Western Reserve.
“I am honored to join BRT at this exciting time in its history and to partner with the Board of Directors, Susan Atkinson, Keith Baker and the staff to build upon the strengths of the organization,” said Maroney in a statement. “I look forward to working with such a passionate and committed team and to immersing myself in the dynamic and rich Philadelphia cultural community.”
