LOS ANGELES: Theatre West has named Spike Dolomite Ward as its executive director. Ward has served as interim executive director for the past six months, and succeeds John Gallogly, who departed the company last June.

“We are all very excited about the direction Theatre West has taken and our board, our membership, and our new executive director will all be working together to propel Theatre West’s into a new and exciting future,” said board member Garry Kluger in a statement.

Spike founded the nonprofit organization Arts in Education Aid Council to restore the arts in San Fernando Valley schools. She will bring her background as an acrylic painter, cartoonist, and art teacher for children into her work at Theatre West. She also has experience as a grant writer, fundraiser, and as a producer.
