Every year since 1994, American Theatre has released an annual list of the Top 10 Most-Produced Plays in the upcoming season at TCG member theatres as part of our October season preview issue. And something that’s being going on that long, especially in the American theatre, deserves to be celebrated.
So we’re marking the occasion on Sept. 21 at the Drama Book Shop. Join the American Theatre editors as we announce who is on our Top 10 Most-Produced Plays and our Top 20 Most-Produced Playwrights list for the 2017-18 season. Last year’s most-produced play was Robert Askins’s Hand to God and the most-produced writer was August Wilson. Who will it be this year?
Find out with us on Sept. 21! We’ll also be joined by a mystery guest (or two).
And what does the prevalence of this year’s plays and writers mean for the state of the field? We’ll talk about that, and answer any questions you have about it or about American Theatre. Did we mention there will be surprise guests?
The event is FREE and open to all. The Drama Book Shop is located at 250 West 40th Street, New York, NY 10018. American Theatre is published by Theatre Communications Group.
And if you can’t make it, no problem: We’ll be livestreaming the event on Facebook (check back here on Sept. 21 for the feed), and the audio will become an episode of our Offscript podcast.
We hope to see you there!
