Berkeley Rep Names Rachel Hull Director of Theatre School

The former director of education at Dallas Theatre Center joins will lead Berkeley’s School of Theatre.

BERKELEY, CALIF.: Berkeley Repertory Theatre has named Rachel Hull the new director of its School of Theatre, beginning June 6. She will succeed Rachel Fink, now the managing director at Theatre Bay Area.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rachel Hull to the Berkeley Rep family,” said managing director Susan Medak in a statement. “Her leadership experience, combined with her commitment to the arts and her ideas for the future of the School of Theatre, all made her our top choice. I know she will be an asset to the organization.”

Hull served as the director of education and community enrichment for the Dallas Theater Center for 11 seasons, where she managed the education and community programs. During her tenure, she oversaw the Project Discovery program, which received the 2013 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. At Berkeley Rep, she will oversee all of the programs in the School of Theatre, including the Teen Council, professional fellowship, docent, and staff development programs.

“I am so honored to join the team at Berkeley Rep,” said Hull in a statement. “They are known for being leaders in the theatre world and have demonstrated a commitment to youth in the arts and engagement with learners on a variety of levels. I plan to carry on that tradition in my new role.”
