PHILADELPHIA: Retired General Colin L. Powell, chairman of the board of the Eisenhower Fellowships, has announced the 10 USA Eisenhower Fellows in 2016. Of the 10, one is a theatre artist: Quinn Bauriedel, cofounder and co-artistic director of Pig Iron Theatre Company.
“We are proud to offer this once-in-a-lifetime experience to this group of talented men and women,” said Powell in a statement. “The fellowship is an opportunity for them to deepen their engagement with a global network of leaders and broaden their ability to positively impact society through their work.”
The fellows will travel abroad in an intensive four- to five-week individualized professional program, meeting with experts in their respective fields. Bauriedel will travel to Spain and Russia to learn from theatre companies that have launched professional training programs.
