AMBLER, PA.: Act II Playhouse has announced its 2015—16 season, featuring six productions, including a world premiere.
The season begins with Bruce Graham’s According to Goldman (Sept. 8—Oct. 4, 2015), about a screenwriter-turned-professor who attempts to make a comeback in the entertainment industry. Tony Braithwaite will star.
Next will be Ken Ludwig’s The Fox on the Fairway (Oct. 27—Nov. 22, 2016), about a competition between two rival country clubs.
Following is the world premiere of On the Road (Jan. 20—Feb. 8, 2016), written and performed by Braithwaite and Jennifer Childs.
Next is Alfred Uhry’s Driving Miss Daisy (March 1—26, 2016), about an unlikely friendship that spans decades and overcomes prejudices.
Following will be Kiss Me, Kate (May 17—June 12, 2016), with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and a book by Bella and Samuel Spewack, about the on- and offstage conflicts within a company performing a production of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.
Also part of the season will be Behind the Music: Holiday Tunes (Dec. 8—27), an entertaining look at the stories behind all your favorite holiday songs.
