BALTIMORE, MD.: Everyman Theatre has found a new managing director. The company promoted director of marketing Jonathan K. Waller to the position, which he will assume on March 30.
“It is truly an honor to be taking on this new role,” Waller said in a statement. “Everyman is a place that digs for the truth, the authentic, the genuine, on stage and off.”
Waller joined Everyman in 2012 as director of marketing. Under his leadership, the theatre has increased its subscriber base and single ticket sales to the highest in its history. Previously, Waller lived in New York City where he was director of external affairs at the Vineyard Theatre. Waller is also a composer and lyricist whose credits include The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley.
“As Everyman continues to grow, we need a strategic leader who cares deeply for our special style of theatremaking,” founding artistic director Vincent Lancisi said in a statement. “Jonathan is that leader, and I look forward to his creativity and energy bringing us to that next chapter of our story.”
Waller inherits the position from Ian Tresselt, who departed the theatre in December to pursue a double Masters degree in design leadership at Johns Hopkins Carey School and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).
