LOS ANGELES: The SkyPilot Theatre Company has announced its 2015 Season, featuring three shows written by the theatre’s resident playwrights. It will be the theatre’s fifth consecutive season producing exclusively new works.
Opening in March is Clutch, by Liz Shannon. The show follows professional football players as they deal with the after-effects of on-the-job concussions or head injuries. A previous play by Shannon, Lights Off, Eyes Closed, was produced at SkyPilot in 2012.
In June, Adam Hahn’s The Mermaid Wars will take the stage. The play is billed as an epic tale covering the mythical conflicts of the title. Hahn’s Earthbound: An Electronica Musical and Kong, A Goddamn Thirty-Foot Gorilla were produced during SkyPilot’s 2012 season.
Closing the season will be Nathan Wellman’s Inhale Harmonica, set to open in October. The drama centers on the Thompson family and the disruption when an outsider enters their farm.
